Bossard Arena Zug
In 2019, the Bossard Arena's sound system was comprehensively modernized and rebuilt with decentralized sound reinforcement units. The focus during planning and implementation was on high speech intelligibility. However, it became apparent, particularly during ice hockey games, that the system was reaching its limits – especially when playing bass-intensive music before the game and during intermissions. To counteract this problem, we were commissioned to conduct a detailed analysis. After attending several home games and conducting comprehensive acoustic measurements of the arena, we concluded that the integration of sub-bass speakers and additional amplifiers would ensure the desired sound quality.
In close coordination with the structural engineering company, we confirmed that this expansion could be easily mounted on the existing support structure. Following the successful upgrade, the digital sound processor (DSP) and amplifiers were precisely adjusted and optimized – for an impressive sound experience that now fully meets the arena's requirements.
